The speed sensor uses a disc with holes (encoder disc) to block the infrared beam, thus by counting the number of times the sensors goes from Low to High we can calculate the number of revolution for a given time period. The sensor part of the LM393 Speed Sensor module consists of an Infrared LED and an NPN Photo Transistor. These two components are placed facing each other is a special housing made of black thermoplastic.
Output form: Digital switch output (0 and 1) and Analog for Sensitivity.
